Buffalo Sabres Chicago Sport reviews
Sonicness
Somewhere in the bowels of KBC, there's a factotum DJ who reflexively thinks the louder, the better, because--you know, isn't it? I and my bestie went to game to see McDavid. Arena was half-empty. Game was acceptable--typical NHL: not enough talent or ice space to let game be captivating. But experience ruined by thundering rain of noise from arena sound system. No moment of silence was permissible. After all, you must pound sensory systems of attendees into submission, right? lest those persons realize that his/her money of $100+ per ticket was not requited by the product on the ice. Go ahead, pump up the music, cause I won't be back.
Historic Night
All Sabres games are spectacular events regardless of the outcome. Since this was my first game back in Buffalo since the pandemic I was excited to see what was changed. Everything seemed untouched except for the performance stage in section 120. I like this addition to the game day experience. Everything else is the same old arena and I love it. The only issue is the arena lighting. Buffalo isn’t the only place with this issue. The older, outdated arenas are dimmer than newer arenas like Vegas, Seattle, and Detroit. This is an issue because when the photographer takes a photo, there is a blinding bright flash that is distracting. The fact newer arenas lighting is bright enough where the flash isn’t needed shows we need a better lighting system. Outside of that the game was very entertaining and even tho I went wearing the other teams jersey fans were still respectful.
KeyBankCenter is Ridiculous
The rules for a purse here are ridiculous.. I have brought the same purse to every hockey game there for the past 3 seasons. It is small and NHL licensed. I always open it, they look in it laugh because i have medication and not much more and let me in. NOT THIS TIME. This time the large egoed purse checker said I couldn't bring it in. It was too big and they showed me a paper the size of a large index card. Really???? So after a back and forth my purse was put in the car with ALL of my medications because i had no pockets. EVERYTHING GETS LOOKED THROUGH AND you go through a detector. God forbid i needed pads or tampons!!!! Or keys for a car???? This whole thing has gotten out of hand. MEANWHILE several others were allowed in with the same size purse as mine or slightly bigger. I just hope nobody loses their life because they can't bring in their medications and need them during a game all because of purse that was a little bigger than an index card!!!
